The paper describes how observable variables can be extracted from social media and then be used to model important latent constructs that impact addiction recovery and relapse. Moreover, geography, especially life in rural areas, appears to have a greater correlation with addiction relapse. We also determined that lack of social activities and physical exercise can enable a relapse. Furthermore, within the context of self-development activities, those that were related to influencing the mental and physical well-being of substance users were found to be positively associated with addiction recovery. Self-development activities and social relationships of the substance users were also found to enable recovery. We found that both emotional distress and physical pain significantly influence addiction recovery behavior. We then employed a statistical analysis technique called structural equation modeling to assess the effects of these latent factors on recovery and relapse. Based on social media posts of users engaged in substance use and recovery on the forum Reddit, we employed two psycholinguistic tools, Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count and Empath and activities of substance users on various Reddit sub-forums to analyze behavior underlining addiction recovery and relapse. Unfortunately, many of these factors are not directly observable and quantifying, and assessing their impact can be difficult. In particular emotional distress, physical pain, relationships, and self-development efforts are known to be some of the factors associated with addiction recovery. ![]() Several context-specific reasons influence drug use and recovery. We discuss our findings with regards to the opportunity, but also risk, that online group membership poses for recovering opioid addicts, as well as the possible contribution that computational social science methods can make to the study of addiction and recovery.Īddiction to drugs and alcohol constitutes one of the significant factors underlying the decline in life expectancy in the US. We find that multiple group membership – in terms of the number of other forums that a subject had posted in - as well as active participation - in terms of how evenly their posts were spread amongst the different forums - reduced the risk of relapse. We applied our analysis to a dataset of 457 recovering opioid addicts that self-announced the date of their recovery, indicating that at least 219 (48%) addicts relapsed during the recovery period. We then model recovery from addiction by applying the extended Cox regression model which accounts for the effect of these two factors on time to relapse. In this work, we study the effects of two main social factors on recovery success: first, multiple group membership defined in terms of richness of online community engagement second, active participation operationalized as the evenness in engagement with these groups. With the help of computational approaches, we now have access to new resources to study whether a wide variety of different online communities can be part of the addiction recovery journey. The Social Identity Model of Recovery (SIMOR) suggests that addiction recovery is a journey through time where membership in various groups facilitates success. Using unfiltered drug-related posts, our research delineates drugs that are associated with higher rates of transitions from recreational drug discussion to support/recovery discussion, offers insight into modern drug culture, and provides tools with potential applications in combating the opioid crisis. In doing so, we found that utterances of select drugs and certain linguistic features contained in one's posts can help predict these transitions. We also proposed a Cox regression model that outputs likelihoods of such transitions. Specifically, using users' posts, we trained a binary classifier which predicts a user's transitions from casual drug discussion forums to drug recovery forums. In this work, we obtained data from Reddit, an online collection of forums, to gather insight into drug use/misuse using text snippets from users narratives. Increasing rates of opioid drug abuse and heightened prevalence of online support communities underscore the necessity of employing data mining techniques to better understand drug addiction using these rapidly developing online resources. 5/2/2023 0 Comments Hobo prison brawl unblockedBut you can play hobo all games online for free on. It's being limited to AGP 2x because of the motherboard, but it's probably being held back even more by that 233 MHz P2. I recently installed an ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500 128 MB in that Pentium II system. The entire system doesn't freeze, though, because it'll still accept keyboard commands, joystick input, and PS/2 mouse input. ![]() Not good in a heated session of Tyrian 2000, or any game that uses mouse input for that matter. Unfortunately, the system will occasionally not take any updates from the mouse for no adequately explained reason, making the cursor "freeze". A USB mouse in the Pentium II system doesn't slow everything down like a PS/2 mouse. Maybe if I raise the FSB a little more, but not too much, I can get more CPU performance out of it. Too much FSB stress(350 uses 100 MHz FSB, 366 uses 66 MHz), which is a shame given that there's PC-100 SDRAM installed. I just learned why my K6-2 system is unstable at 350 MHz, but can run at 366 MHz. I'll use the V2 in conjunction for the Glide games like MW2 31stCC.) Reply 1 of 38, by Davros (Nevertheless, I want something with HT&L, as well as great D3D and OGL performance. Third, how do I fix that bloody mouse slowdown on the P2 system? Maybe I ought to use a USB mouse and see if that works, or check the drivers for whatever controls the PS/2 port.įourth, what AGP card do you recommend for the P2 system? I was thinking of using a Radeon 8500, but that might be overkill. There's also the Gravis Ultrasound line to look into, which has an interesting design that the demoscene embraced, but it has poor SB support, and only having two ISA slots means it's either the LAPC-I or the GUS(I'm not giving up the AWE64 Gold because of its SB compatibility). I'm looking at pairing it with a Roland LAPC-I, if I can ever find one(eBay doesn't have any right now). FM synth is poorer than genuine OPL2/OP元 cards, for instance, but I'd take MIDI from the AWE portion or a Roland solution over FM synth any day. Second off, I just realized that the AWE64 Gold isn't exactly the best for all games. Unfortunately, there's no AGP slot, two of the PCI slots can't accept long cards like the Voodoo 2, and it's a spaghetti mess of cables in there. It also doesn't slow down upon mouse movement. The K6 system can take a K6-III+ 450 from what I've heard, which can OC to 550 MHz easily. The first question is, which of these two should I keep, or at least primarily use? (My mother is a bit upset about having three PCs in the house already, and I'm about to get a fourth meant for modern PC games that my Athlon XP 1800+ system chokes on.) The P2 system has better graphics card options and a much better wiring job, but the damn thing slows down just by moving the mouse, and CPU options are limited. 4 GB 5.25" HDD (Wait, since when did hard drives take up 5.25" bays?) Parts I can use between these two systems: Furthermore, I can't adjust CPU clock speeds in the BIOS, nor can I mess with memory timings.) Another significant downside is that just moving my PS/2 mouse results in a MASSIVE performance hit. Unfortunately, the 440LX chipset doesn't seem to support the 100 MHz FSB, nor the Pentium III line, limiting me to a 333 MHz CPU. There's also an AGP slot that I could cram a Radeon 8500 or something else into. ![]() Since it's an ATX form factor, the wiring is much more clean, thank goodness. (I just picked this system up from a thrift store for 25 US$ a day or two ago. some Foxconn mobo (Slot 1, Intel 440LX, 66 MHz FSB, 1x ISA, 1x ISA/PCI, 3x PCI, 1x AGP 2x, 3x SDRAM) At least the BIOS isn't too bad, since it lets me OC the CPU and adjust RAM timings) No AGP, and the layout for some of the connectors will give you wiring hell, probably because it's AT! I have to route the serial port cables over the PCI cards, for instance! The fact that the CPU HSF limits the length of two of those three PCI slots is annoying as well, since I can only install one Voodoo 2 card. (That's a pretty horrible motherboard, by the way. PCChips M598 mobo (Super Socket 7, 2x ISA, 3x PCI, 3x SDRAM) Okay, I have two legacy systems for the sole purpose of classic gaming(at least for very late 1980s-early 1990s IBM games, as I'd rather play anything earlier through WinUAE, CaSTaway, or other home computer emulator since PCs sucked as gaming machines back then): (It's been a while since I last posted here.hope there's nothing wrong with that.) 5/2/2023 0 Comments Cardinal health jobs![]() contacting their health care plan manager.calling their local Department of Social Services or.calling Cover Virginia at 1-833-5CALLVA.To ensure that eligible Medicaid recipients continue to receive coverage, officials are asking them to update their contact information via one of the following: In addition to the 14% who lose eligibility, another 4% of recipients are expected to lose eligibility but will re-enroll within six months, which is known as churn. No one will be disenrolled from Medicaid before April 30, Dooley said. A change in household size could also affect eligibility. Some might have changed jobs and therefore their income changed, or they now have health insurance through an employer. Reasons people might lose eligibility vary, Dooley said. That 14% is below the national average of 20%, according to DMAS. With the public health emergency - and that extra federal money - now coming to an end, Virginia has begun resuming its regular annual recertification process.ĭuring that time, an estimated 14% of Virginia Medicaid recipients, or about 300,000 people, will lose Medicaid eligibility, according to Rebecca Dooley, acting communications director for DMAS. Of that 2.2 million, more than 500,000 are in Southwest, Southside and the Alleghany Highlands, according to figures available from DMAS. Medicaid enrollment in Virginia then soared by more than 40% during the pandemic, from 1.53 million to approximately 2.2 million, according to figures from the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services. This came on the heels of Virginia expanding Medicaid in 2019 under the Affordable Care Act by increasing the income threshold for eligibility. The federal public health emergency declared in March 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, required Virginia and other states to suspend their usual yearly Medicaid renewal processes as one of several conditions for receiving enhanced federal funding. “We’ll be here for the uninsured, and I do expect our numbers to increase for uninsured.” Restarting the regular recertification process “Even if it’s until they can re-enroll again, they’re going to need a medical home,” Underwood said. ![]() Underwood said she anticipates the unwinding process will result in more patients seeking care from the clinic as some Medicaid recipients lose eligibility.
